A boot is a short of long shoe that protects the foot up to a certain height that depending on what it is being used for: up to the calf, to the knee or until the thigh. It held a crucial role in clothing, mostly for plastic rain boots snow after-ski boots.
Initially, boots were men accessories used to protect pants from mud and other dirtying materials, mostly while they were working. The length of thigh boots were essential to preserve the pants, worn prematurely due to friction on the saddle of the horse. Nowadays boots are a major women’s fashion accessory.
The thigh, elegant accessory
The initial vulgar thigh boots opened the way for the all new generation of boots designed by the popular clothes designers. After a noticed comeback, sexy, usually worn with a miniskirt, boots drove crowds crazy. Several personalities have thus appeared in a miniskirt and thigh boots, for example Diane Kruger, who was attributed the title of the “model of elegance” in March 2005.
In 1801, a creation of Jacquard loom helped to obtain cheaper quality tissues, which led to the creation of under knee boots. It was only during the winter 1963-that boots rose again, but among women this time. This clothing style was originally criticized until the boom of women’s fashion boots during 1967 and 1970.
Fashion miniskirt/long boots
The song These Boots Are Made for Walkin’, of Nancy Sinatra became a symbol of the emancipation of women during in 1965, and launched the fashion of miniskirt and boots among teen and college girls.
Nowadays there is a large variety of boots for women, at different sizes and made from different materials such as leather or fur.
